Self esteem plays off of mirrors
Forfeits and then disappears
Fluorescent lights will dance
But never will forgive so fast
From growing up to breaking down
Can't find yourself in the Lost and Found
An out of body experience, a private caller
Now beckons you to stand a little taller
But mirror, mirror on the door
You were more beautiful before
Life is more than arts and crafts
You can't add glitter where you lack
We all see you cutting shapes
Now only my scraps remain
Safety scissors can't break the skin
Neither can I-
Won't you let me in?
Very spur of the moment thing, not quite my usual format, something different. Comments appreciated.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

I love this so much. In my head I secretly want to read the 9th and 10th lines like this, "But mirror, mirror on the door/You were much more beautiful before" just so that almost sing-songy rhythm is maintained all the way through. Great job. =)
